I've never bought on this site, although from what I've read it is a very legitimate site with reliable sellers. Also, there is no "2017 Model" below it as I have seen on other 2017 Standards. Secondly, the imprint on the back of the headstock doesn't look quite right - the serial number looks larger and deeper than usual, and the word "In" in "Made in USA" appears to be off-set or wrong sized letters. First, the color seems a bit darker than most of the PBs I have seen online and in person. So I found a few slightly-used PBs on a well-known trading site, and this one below is the most keenly priced, but looks a bit funky to me. The latter looks more traditional Gibson, but the PB color is also very cool (and not offered in 2018-19). But I've warmed to them, and the great tone, light weight and reasonable price are all factors in favor of pulling the trigger.īut I'm torn between picking up a 2017 low-mileage Standard in Pelham Blue, versus a 2018 or 2019 new Standard in Heritage Cherry. At this point I'm leaning toward an SG, even though the long neck always put me off a bit. First-time poster here getting some Christmas GAS and thinking about adding to my small stable of electrics, including a couple of Strats, a Tele and a Les Paul. ![]()
